I have had a couple folks ask about the computer I’m about to build, so I thought I’d write a quick post and let everyone know all the details. For those who don't know, the components have been ordered and they are on their way.

First of all the CPU is an AMD FX-8120 “Zambezi” 8-core desktop processor, based on the new “Bulldozer” architecture, running at 3.1 GHz.  I’ll be mounting this bad boy on an ASUS 990FX “Sabertooth” motherboard along with 16 GB of G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 RAM.

To make the pixels sparkle, I’m getting an ASUS Radeon HD 6850 with Crossfire and support for Eyefinity, and the software will be installed on a 2TB Seagate Barracuda.  It’ll all be mounted in a Cooler Master - High Air Flow case, powered by a 650 W power supply.

A couple wide screen monitors will be ordered early next year along with a liquid cooling system (if needed).

I will at least take some pictures (hopefully video) when I start to put it all together.  Check back in a week or two.
